It all started at a business dinner in 2004, where I, the only woman in a group of five men from different parts of Europe, wore a shirt that fit terribly. As the evening went on, the comments became increasingly uncomfortable, and it ended with me slipping away and running through the corridors to my hotel room.
The insecurity I felt in the shirt, which gapped between the buttons at the bust, is unfortunately not an uncommon feeling among women, both at work and in everyday life.
This is what drives me. Every day, I work to ensure that everyone who WANTS to have the opportunity to feel secure in a shirt, without tape or safety pins!
Please read about how we view sustainability here, beyondsustainablefashion
We produce in Europe using environmentally certified materials, but we believe that sustainability is about much more. In our view, sustainability means that clothes are worn and do not remain hanging in the wardrobe. In short, clothes should fit our bodies and thus make us feel secure. We believe that this feeling leads to us actually wearing the clothes.
Every garment sold in the world is worn an average of 7 times, and we do not want it to be that way. Clothes that are not worn have been produced unnecessarily and, in our view, are not sustainable, regardless of how certified the materials used are. We do not want to be part of that type of fashion.
We have chosen to make our shirts slightly more generous and have designed a pattern that makes it easier to take them in if you want them to fit a little more closely. Currently, we only stock long sleeves and charge a small fee to have the sleeves shortened to the desired length by our tailor in Sweden. This is so we can keep our inventory low. In this way, we avoid overproduction and can keep prices down.
It is also important that the clothes are easy to mix and match. Fittingly, we call our shirts "Proud". The ProudClassic business blouse is currently available in 20 sizes and three traditional colors: white, black, and light blue. For priests, we currently stock ProudPriest in black wrinkle-free poplin and light blue 100% linen. The deacon shirts for women are called ProudDeacon and are available in green poplin and 100% linen.
We also have a lot of demand from customers to be able to shop for our clothes in fashion stores. We call our fashion blouses ProudFashion. These fashion blouses come in small collections, limited editions, and are usually made from overproduced premium fabrics that would otherwise be burned.
ProudFashion will be available in selected stores around Sweden.
